Power of EyesAs discussed in "Freeing of the Look"; "Silence of the Lambs" has a completely new spin on how to film perspectives. There are two specific images that I want to focus on. The first being when Starling meets up with Lector and we get the close-up on Lector's face. Lector says "Don't you feel eyes moving over your body? Don't your eyes seek out the things they want?" This quote specifically points out how people look at women differently; how they are objectified and seen as objects. A lot of this movie was based on the new (at the time) female archetype. Women are just starting to gain prestige and power yet we get this complicated character of Buffalo Bill which "Freeing the Look" says is a character symbolizing a "homophobic" gay male who wishes he was a girl. Lastly we get one last image from the first person perspective from Buffalo Bill looking at Starling with night vision.
